Packaging specifications

Quote the box around the product, supply chain and packing method.

Box style & structure

Folding cartons, E-flute/corrugated boxes, mailer-style boxes and other suitable structures can be assessed from the product and packing requirement.

Finished dimensions

Supply internal or external length × width × height and confirm whether the product needs inserts, dividers or protective space.

Board & flute

Board grade, caliper and flute choice are matched to the box structure, weight, presentation and transport requirements.

Print & branding

Full-colour print, brand colours, product information, barcodes and version-specific artwork should be included in the RFQ.

Finishing

Lamination, varnish, foil, emboss/deboss, spot effects and other suitable finishes can be considered according to the structure and production method.

Dieline & prototype

If no approved dieline exists, tell us the product dimensions and whether structural development or a prototype is required before the full run.

Repeat-order industries

Packaging becomes most valuable when the customer needs it again and again.

For recurring product lines, the goal is not only to print one batch. A disciplined specification, version naming and approved dieline make future reorders easier to price, reproduce and distribute.

Cosmetics & beauty

Retail cartons, presentation boxes and product packaging for multiple fragrances, shades or SKUs.

Food & FMCG

Printed secondary packaging and cartons for approved product artwork and commercial supply requirements.

Ecommerce & retail

Branded mailers and product boxes for repeat fulfilment, promotions and product launches.

Industrial & B2B

Corrugated and branded packaging for parts, products, distribution and operational requirements.

For an accurate packaging RFQ, include:

  • Total quantity and quantity per SKU
  • Box style or reference image
  • Internal/external dimensions
  • Product weight and packing method
  • Board/flute if already specified
  • Print colours and coverage
  • Finishing requirements
  • Dieline/prototype status
  • Flat or assembled supply preference
  • Packing/carton requirements
  • Delivery destinations
  • Required receiving date

Multi-SKU packaging

50,000 boxes may be split across several products, sizes or regional versions.

Large packaging projects are often divided across multiple products. Send the exact quantity for every SKU, size, language, branch or artwork version. That allows production, finishing, packing and delivery to be planned around the full order rather than one generic unit price.

Frequently asked questions

High-volume custom packaging questions

Can you quote 10,000, 50,000 or 100,000 boxes?

Yes. Send the complete packaging specification, number of versions, quantity per version, product/packing information and deadline so the requirement can be assessed as a commercial high-volume RFQ.

Can you help if we do not have a dieline?

Include the product dimensions, weight, reference images and required box style. Structural development or prototype requirements can then be assessed before the full production run.

Can one order contain multiple packaging designs?

Yes. Provide the exact quantity for each SKU, size or artwork version so the complete production plan can be quoted correctly.

Do you supply packaging nationwide?

Commercial packaging projects can be quoted with delivery to one or multiple South African destinations. Include destination quantities and required receiving dates in the RFQ.

Are you claiming every box is manufactured in your Norwood shop?

No. Print Norwood coordinates suitable production and manufacturing routes from its Johannesburg base according to the box structure, quantity, print method, finishing and project requirements.
